What is included in the box?
Each necklace ships with the pendant, a 20" + 2" extension stainless steel chain, a small filling funnel, and a gift box. No adhesive or threadlocker is included.
Does it arrive pre-sealed or already filled?
The pendant ships empty and unsealed so you can fill it yourself. The threaded cap is closed for transit but has not been glued or sealed by the factory.
How do I fill the pendant?
Unscrew the top cap by turning it counter-clockwise. Use the included funnel to guide a small pinch of ashes (or a few drops of essential oil, or a lock of fur or hair) into the chamber. Wipe the threads clean with a dry cloth before closing. Replace the cap by turning it clockwise until snug — do not over-tighten, as stainless steel threads can cross-thread if forced.
Is the closure reversible? Can I re-open it later?
Yes — the screw-top cap is fully reversible as long as no adhesive has been applied. You can open, refill, or empty the pendant at any time simply by unscrewing the cap.
When (and when not) to use an adhesive or threadlocker
Some customers choose to apply a very small amount of clear jewelry-grade threadlocker (such as a low-strength, removable formula) to the cap threads after filling, to reduce the risk of the cap loosening over time. Important notes before you decide:
- Applying any adhesive is optional and permanent in practice — removal requires soaking and may not be fully reversible.
- Do not use super glue (cyanoacrylate) directly on the threads; it can bond instantly and make the cap impossible to remove without damaging the pendant.
- If you choose a threadlocker, select a product rated for metal-to-metal use and follow its manufacturer's instructions carefully.
- We recommend filling and wearing the pendant a few times before deciding whether to seal it permanently.
What about water exposure?
The pendant and chain are made from stainless steel, which resists everyday moisture such as sweat and light splashes. However, the threaded cap is a mechanical closure — not a gasket seal — so the interior is not protected against immersion or heavy water exposure. We recommend removing the necklace before swimming, bathing, or activities where water may enter the cap threads, especially if the pendant has not been sealed with a threadlocker.
